Join the Italian Community of Akron Inc. in 2012 to visit Southern Italy and Sicily for 12 days wonderful days. This year we have partnered with CDG VIAGGI to provide you with the best selection of trips and excursions. This is our 5th tour in Italy with CDG VIAGGI, a professional family owned tour operator located in Sicily. Our tours are customized and are ofered at cost, this year CDG_VIAGGI will take us to visit southern Italy, starting in Rome and ending in Palermo.CDG VIAGGI, will assist anyone who wishes to visit family and friends near to the itinerary offered.

About the tour:
Starting: June 17,2012
Ending: June 28, 2012

ITINERARY MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 20 PARTICIPANTS
DAY 1: Departure flight to Rome ( June 17, 2012 )
Day 2: Arrive Rome ( 2 nights ), visit the eternal city by bus with a local guide, hotel rooms assignment , free time to rest then welcome dinner at Roma Antica Restaurant with entertainment.
Day 3 : Rome,
A local expert guide will take you to see St Peter’s Basilica, built around the tomb of St Peter, see the Michelangelo Masterpiece the “ PIETA”, then in the afternoon you will visit the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, then relax on Via Veneto and try a typical Roman Dinner in one of the many restaurants.
Day 4: Rome-Pompeii-Sorrento.
Leaving Rome. Your first stop will be Pompeii, a local guide will take you on a walking tour through the excavations before you check-in to your hotel in Sorrento, dinner at the hotel in Sorrento.
Day 5: Sorrento-Isle of Capri
Today you will take a cruise to the Isle of Capri where a guide will take you on a walking tour, lunch on your own then back to Sorrento for some free time and dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 6: Sorrento – Catania
Free time in Sorrento, lunch at the Hotel, visit Napoli in the afternoon, then you will take an overnight cruise ship to Catania, Sicily, double cabin, with shower and Bathroom, dinner on your own inside the ship
Day 7:Catania -Comiso.
Arrive in Catania where a local guide will take you in a walking tour of the City then proceed to our hotel in Comiso where a delicious dinner will be served at the pool side .
Day 8: Comiso –Agrigento-Ragusa Ibla
This morning you will depart for Agrigento, the local guide will take you to visit the Valley of the temples, the finest Greek Sanctuary in Sicily, see the splendid Temple of Concord and then back to the hotel for some relaxing time. In the afternoon we will visit the city of Ragusa Ibla before continuing for our dinner at a local farm house
Day 9: Comiso – Noto -Siracusa.
Today we will depart to see the city of Noto, lunch / wine tasting in a typical restaurant and then proceed to Syracuse, city notable for the rich Greek History and birth place of Archimedes, overnight at the beautiful Corallo Hotel
Day 10: Eolie Islands,
This morning the tour will take you to visit the Eolie Islands then back to the hotel for some relaxing time before proceeding for an evening at Taormina , dinner at local restaurant, overnight at Corallo Hotel..
Day 11: Cefalu’, PALERMO-Monreale,
This morning the tour will first take you to visit Cefalu then Palermo to see the Cathedral, the local open market and later stop to Monreale to visit the 12th Century Norman Cathedral, farewell dinner at the hotel in Palermo.
Day 12: June 28, 2012 :
Farewell to Sicily and transfer to the Airport for a safe return home.
The land cost of this tour is in Euro and based on the number of people participating:
20 participants: Euro 1860.00 - 30 Participants: Euro 1700.00 – 40 Participants: Euro 1530.00
Airfare cost $ 1500.00 - Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
A deposit of $ 300.00 is required by January 31, 2012.
